We enjoyed a great last dance out of the season on Saturday when we joined Mucky Mountains during their weekend of dance. Along with four other guest teams we danced around St Helens and enjoyed good weather and appreciative audiences. Mucky Mountains made us very welcome, with refreshments being served in the Quaker Meeting House (a lovely building) at the beginning and end of the day. The home-made cakes were delicious – setting us up well for the journey home. It was great to meet up with old friends, the weather was good to us and we all agreed that it was a fitting end to what has been a fantastic season.

Singleton Cloggers Day of Dance – Poulton le Fylde

Saturday, 8th September 2018

Although there was heavy rain for most of the day, we really enjoyed our annual trip to Poulton le Fylde to join Singleton and several other teams for their Day of Dance.  It was obvious that no outdoor dancing would be possible, but despite that we had a most enjoyable day – due mainly to Singleton’s efforts in locating indoor venues where we could all perform, including a pub and the Community Centre.  We were very well looked after, it was nice to catch up with old friends from other teams and we all agreed that it was a great day out including Rascal, Paul and Rita’s dog, who managed to stay dry.

Annual Settle Folk Gathering

Once again we enjoyed a great day out in Settle where, as guests of Flagcrackers of Craven, we danced with seven other teams in the Market Square and the Millennium Gardens.  The weather was very kind to us and the crowds were appreciative and enthusiastic.

Buxton Day of Dance

Buxton Day of Dance 2018 – Saturday, 21st July

Buxton Day of DanceWe enjoyed a great day out in Buxton as guests of Chapel-en-le-Frith Morris Men.  In all, 17 teams spent the day dancing in various spots around the town, watched by substantial, appreciative crowds in lovely weather.  To end the day, we all got together at the bottom of The Slopes, each performing a show dance.  Thanks to Chapel for hosting the day – the choc ices were much appreciated!

Kern Morris Day of Dance, Durham

Another great day out in Durham, where we danced with several teams around the city.  It was lovely to meet up with old friends.  A gaggle of geese on the A1 delayed our journey in the morning, and a torrential downpour completely drenched us at the end of the day, but as always, we really enjoyed our visit to this beautiful place.

Saturday, 26th May 2018 – Leeds Morris Men’s 2018 Dales Tour

We had a great day dancing with Leeds Morris Men and their many guest teams.  We began the day dancing in Burnsall before being taken by coach to several delightful spots around the Dales, including Linton, Kirkby Malham, Skipton and Embsay.  The weather was perfect, the buffet lunch in Kirkby Malham Village Hall was delicious and we all enjoyed ourselves tremendously.  In Skipton, a lovely dog, Henry, took a liking to Gill’s hat, finding it very tasty!

harrogate fiddle n feet

We had a wonderful day out in Harrogate as guests of Betty Luptons.  Along with other guest teams – Briggate Morris, Cricket on the Hearth, Feet First, Flag and Bone, Knaresborough Mummers, Persephone and White Rose Garland Dancers, we danced at various spots around the town in beautiful sunshine.  Crowds were smaller than usual (some sort of Royal celebration going on?!) but were very appreciative.  A most enjoyable day.
