17th to 19th August 2018
For the third year running, Fiddle ‘n’ Feet attended Whitby Folk Festival. Although not part of the official programme, we enjoyed dancing and playing around the town. We attracted appreciative audiences everywhere we performed and we had a great time. On Saturday we were joined by our friends from Step This Way, an Appalachian clog dance group based in Durham, and enjoyed sharing dance spots with them.
Our musicians joined others to play at informal music sessions in various pubs on Friday and Saturday evenings and in one pub on Friday evening the dancers even managed to squeeze into a tight corner to perform a rendition of the Circle Dance.
We all enjoyed ourselves enormously, the weather was kind and our dancing and music was well received (on counting up, we realised that we performed 18 dances on Saturday, probably a record for one day!). We’re already looking forward to next year.
